On January 26th 2003, twenty-eight year old Lobsang Dhondup was executed by Chinese authorities and Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's death sentence was upheld. Both men were wrongly arrested and convicted for their alleged involvement in a series of unsolved bombings in Eastern Tibet. Following an intense international campaign by Tibetans and supporters, Tenzin Delek's sentence was commuted to life in prison. China wants this innocent Tibetan monk disapear. You can help make sure this doesn't happen.

Dear Minister Zhang:
I am disturbed to learn that Tenzin Delek Rinpoche (Chinese: A An Zha
Xi) remains imprisoned in Chuandong Prison, Sichuan Province. I am gravely concerned about his health and that of the other Tibetans arrested or disappeared in Lithang, eastern Tibet (Chinese: Sichuan
Province) in connection to this case.
There appears to be no evidence that Tenzin Delek Rinpoche was involved in the crimes he has been accused of by Chinese authorities.
Rather, circumstances suggest that he is being targeted because of his work to preserve and protect Tibetan culture, religion and the environment. His trial did not follow international standards and he
was denied access to a lawyer of his own choosing.
I understand that Tenzin Delek, and the others imprisoned in connection to this case could be facing mistreatment and torture in prison. Therefore, I am very concerned about their well being and urge
you to disclose information about all those who have been detained and disappeared in connection to this case. Finally, I urge you to immediately release Tenzin Delek Rinpoche from prison.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
(Your name)
